Varna – This city offers a relaxed cosmopolitan atmosphere, blending ancient, medieval and renaissance architecture with a modern, vibrant feel. The city is brimming with landmarks, most notably the magnificent 19th century cathedral. A short walk from the cathedral is buzzing shopping plaza where you can choose from designer names and locally-made products, as well as enjoying the sight of the spectacular fountain displays. As night falls, you can choose from a varied nightlife, including modern bars and clubs as well as traditional Bulgarian music venues.

Albena - This popular resort, famed for its gardens, stretches 5kms along the picturesque gulf in the Varna region. It is the ideal destination for a break in the sun, whether you are planning the next family vacation or a last minute getaway. The 150 metre-wide beach offers fine, clean sand leading down to calm, crystal-clear water. And, with the sea no deeper than 1.6 metres up to 150 metres out, it is also a family-friendly resort. There are more than 40 hotels, meaning you are spoilt for choice whatever your taste or budget, plus plenty of sport and recreation facilities, lots of entertainment and plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from. Purpose built as a tourist resort, Albena has matured into a fine town, with its own high street, picturesque squares and even a little train system to help you get around. The landscape is dominated by the Baltata National Reserve, visible from most of the hotels. As if the stunning scenery, glittering sea and golden sands were not enough to help you relax, this area is also home to Bulgaria’s largest coastal spa, where local mineral waters will leave you fully revitalised.

Golden Sands – The Golden Sands resort is an ideal destination for families, offering not only golden sands, shallow, calm water and warm summers, but also the stunning National Park. Obviously, watersports are in abundance, from yachting to the Aquapolis water park, but there’s also horse riding, sports centres and spa facilities. But for many tourists who choose this area of Bulgaria, it is the gleaming beaches which are the main attraction. You are treated to long sandy beaches, famed for their fine quartz sands. However, if you fancy a break from topping up the tan and action-packed activities, there’s plenty of Bulgarian culture and history to explore nearby. Plus, of course, there is the stunning Zlatni Pyasatsi Nature Park and delightful Frangen Plateau. Nature lovers will be delighted with the amazing sights, the woodland and the hot mineral springs. In addition to a wide choice if villas and hotel accommodation to suit all pockets and requirements, Golden Sands boasts an array of restaurants offering local and international cuisine, clubs for partying the night away, traditional bars to soak up some Bulgarian culture and shopping centres where you can give the credit card a workout.
